CSE Team has attended a two-day workshop on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on February 04-05, 2020. The workshop was focused on the 'Implementation of the Vision 2030 Agenda at the Local and Urban Level, making cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable, focussing on a joint effort between the national level, the local level, business, stakeholders and citizens.
The workshop was organized by the Department of Urban Development (DoUD), in partnership with agencies like UNDP, UN-Habitat, NitiAayog, and UNICEF with 152 ULB as participants. The workshop was inaugurated by Honourable Minister of Urban Development, Mr AshutoshTandon; Principal Secretary, Mr Manoj Singh; Director, Urban Local Bodies, Dr Kajal; State Mission Director, AMRUT, Mr AnuragYadav and Honourable Mayor of Lucknow, Sanyukta Bhatia.
CSE shared their FSSM initiatives in Uttar Pradesh, which includes mainstreaming effective FSSM at the state level, scaling up of FSTPs and co-treatment, actively engaged in tracking and monitoring the progress of ULBs and identification of pioneer cities, capacity building of various stakeholders including government officials and lastly deep-dive support to two ULBs, i.e., Chunar and Bijnor.
The workshop was interactive and shared synergies with different stakeholders involved in the Urban Development Sector.
