Workshop on 'The Future of Urban Sanitation in India'

CSE team from water programme has attended workshop on 'The Future of Urban Sanitation in India' organized by PRIA on 27th Feb 2020. The Workshop was inaugurated by Mr Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister, MoHUA. Dr Rohilla spoke of the panel discussion on the need for convergence of programmes for urban sanitation. Dr Rohilla has stressed on the fact that the network & designing of service provision is the same for all cities, despite their needs & resourcing being different. There are centralized systems even in small and medium cities and Municipalities lack the capacity to regulate and plan such services. Thus, more capacity building is needed for convergence in water and sanitation schemes. Other speakers in the conference included V. K. Madhavan, Country Director, WaterAid; Mr B Wilson (SKA), DipenderKapur, NIUA
