The case study is taken as a ‘best management practice’ for zoning regulations in buffer areas around a lake. The major concern of the lake was the the poor water quality due to high sediment load from the land-based stormwater runoff which limited wildlife terrestrial habitat and diminished the aquatic habitat. The case aims to establish, augment and restore buffers around the pond to enhance its water quality, thus improving the aesthetics and wildlife habitat. The contents provided in this case study is based on secondary research from open sources mentioned in reference section and don't necessarily reflect those of Centre for Science and Environment.
