In order to start preparing the financial framework of the CSP, it is essential to refer to the action plan that was prepared in the previous step. Each strategy in every sanitation sector needs to be achieved through a series of projects which will be implemented in a phased manner.

Step 1: Open the action plan created for your CSP

Step 2: Start brainstorming with your CSTF on relevant projects for each sanitation sector. You can use this excel sheet for identifying and prioritizing projects for each sanitation sector for the next 5-10 years. Download – List of projects* Examples have been given in this excel sheet for reference. Kindly edit as per your city context*

Step 3: Now that the list of projects have been created, we can now begin to formulate the financial operative plan (FoP). This step will require references to existing data in the city’s municipal accounts department.
